Sov's Crazy Ramblings

Hi there, just a quick update as to what is happening… Had some massive problems with my server host, long story short, they’re thieving gits who are trying to charge me to reduce my costs.. <

So i’ve been busy sorting out other server for the EVE teamspeak and other things, moved all my company business to the US servers and its all working great. I’m working on a new design for ad-sl.com which will be done… in a few days probably, going for a completely new idea, we’ll see how it works out.
Going for simple, yet stylish and easy to use. We’ll see if it stays that way or indeed is that way.

As for other things, the wow guild is going alright, we’re still strugglng on some easy stuff, people just need to get their head in the game and focus on the fight and how to improve themselves.

Apart from that I’m doing pretty good, just been really quite busy. My dad doesn’t seem to be getting much worse at the moment, he is doing alright, I hope it stays that way but time will tell of course. He is still constantly very tired and the slightest exertion wears him out.

I haven’t posted in a bit so I thought i’d throw in a quick update.
Things appear to be going alright, Lightbringers is back up and running well now we’re raiding 2-3 times a week and getting regular active new members which is always a great thing.

As for reality, my dad is getting a bit worse every day, he is getting more tired and he can do less and less, I feel bad for not doing anything with him but I can’t think of anything we can do that will not wear him out. talking wears him out pretty quick, so I’m really at a loss here. I’m just being as kind as I can and doing what I can for him, which isn’t a whole lot.

As for work, i’ve been working very little, my dad has shown me around his sites and I’m currently working on that, seeing if it is going to be feasable to continue, something i’m doubting at the moment sadly. We will see.

Other than that my hosting is going alright, had a few new clients recently and its keeping itself afloat pretty well, I’m going to look at it all again soon and probably rearrange it again, cutting costs and moving servers about.

I did previously say that I was going to do video blogs, however a number of reasons i haven’t. 1: I’m ugly 2: I don’t know what to do a vlog about, and thats quite important while talking for 2-3 minutes on a subject 3: my webcam pissed me off as its slightly knackered at the moment, when it starts up it goes into a spastic flailing from which it doesn’t exactly recover. However if anyone would like to suggest a topic, i’d be willing to try and fix the damn thing So please do that.

Other trival additions: I’m downlo…buying some movies for my parents to watch . Warren cancelled his trip back to Tenerife sadly, (did I mention this here before?)  I was thinking of moving back to the UK though i’m not sure about that yet. Its been a good long while since I updated and much has happened and changed.

Firstly. Mike, a good friend of mine has just had a baby girl!

Well onto the nitty gritty. After my guild’s split from Invictus Sanctum we have had a rough time. Firstly I got burned out on WoW and went back to EVE for a bit, its an even better game than when I left it and i’m now actively playing it again. As for WoW however, the lightbringers has been left well enough alone. Lucithana and Mirodi have bought in their alts and real life friends, and I have recruited new blood. Few of them have showed interest in the guild after joining and I wonder if anyone really cares. I’ve become disheartened and I told them they could go  back to sanctum if they wish… I’m not sure its a good idea, considering sanctum, but its a stable guild, even though there are aspects of it that appear hellish.

As for the future of the lightbringers, I am still not certain, I have stopped inviting new members while I think it over in my head, though my inital thoughts are to drop it entirely. WoW has become a mindless monotony, sure its fun occasionally, but the continual repetition day in day out is enough to drive a man insane.

In other news. Summer has come and it is now boiling here every night, no matter how much clothing I remove I still pour sweat and stick to my desk as I type. The fan is going the window is open and still the heat soars, I would say it could not be hotter but I know that is untrue.

The heat is causing me to be irritable, short on temper, tense, and I have a distinct lack of concentration, I can’t focus on anything without being drawn to the terribly feeling on my arms of being stuck to a desk by my own filth.

I’ve also recently helped my mother with her website and her first e-book has been published. It is a beginners guide to painting with watercolor. If you have any interest at all here is a link.

I will make a promise now to keep this blog up to date, I know i’ve promised this before but I see that it is a good thing now, I feel I am losing my grip on sanity, maybe this will be of use to a scientist years from now.

Also my father grows steadily more tired, though it hardly seems possible, eating has become a major hardship  for him and he struggles to take in even the most basic of nutrients, he suffers in silence but I can see his pain. I wished that my father could say “Son, i’m proud of what you’ve acheived” but I fear this may never happen, no matter how hard I try or what I do, I can never achieve anything that I desire or strive for. I’m sorry dad.

I don’t know where to go now from here so I think I will close for now. Just know that if i’ve treated you poorly recently… then I’m sorry, I never mean any harm, and I always want what is best for everyone else, even though my actions seem to cause nothing my trouble and strife.

p.s. Megan is away at the moment, on a 2 week vacation to see relatives, I wish her the best of luck and fun. I hope you have a great time. I’m sorry I could not be there as I hoped to be for your camping trip, it weighs heavily on my mind and I regret every moment I procrastinated and said “I’ll go”.  I hope that one day we will indeed meet, I hope that truly, it would bring meaning back to my life.

Hi everyone.

I’m writing this a little late at night, not because I can’t sleep but because I have some stuff that must be said before I can sleep.

Firstly. The wedding went fine and all that, great reception, Öt made a great firework display, very impressive.

Secondly. The Lightbringers is formed, sanctum didn’t like us leaving one little bit, Teesah was very unhappy and practically banished us, if only she’d rolled a warlock. [nerd joke]

Thirdly. I’ve spoken to Brittanni and slapped myself afterward for my silly thoughts and worries and.. ugh i’m just so stupid. Anyway…

Fourthly. We’re looking to expand the guild now and should be a whole lot of fun in the next few weeks meeting new people and getting everything set up.

Fifthly… i’m going to stop saying “number-ly”.  I want to thank Megan… OOOh I said her real name… (kelate) for being there for me all this week, you’re a great friend and I really hope your c-section goes well and doesn’t hurt Get well soon and I can’t wait to see the baby. Only 1 day left!!

Today… I have been trying to make wrongs right… Seeing as there is so much wrong I figured I could do my bit to correcting this. I texted about some friends and …well quite honestly the way I treated, or neglected them… or… they just went out of contact… Well honestly I didn’t expect any response.

I won’t tell you how many people hate my guts as that is…. saddening and doesn’t make me look too great…but one person came back to me and we’ve been talking for a while.

I hadn’t realized just how disconnected from the world I was until tonight. Well I knew, just wasn’t willing to accept it I guess.

I don’t know where this was going but its good to get back in contact with you mystery person, and i’m sorry I was such an ass previously to you.

On a funny note: When tagging this post I realized there wasnt even a “friends” tag

I was just asked by Lobster((Rethius)(Ret)) where the name sovhed came from… and let me tell you wow thats a story.. I think its a good idea that I tell you just so you arent wondering and I thought that it would make for an interesting, though maybe not funny read.

It all started one day when I got Battlefield 1942. I had been playing alone happily and decided I wanted to do something else, I downloaded Desert Combat.. at that stage it was in early development.. After a while I met someone called *S*G*Something (can’t remember the name now). They invited me to their clan and I thought “oh what the heck”

I joined, the day after the clan fell apart, not due to me or my choice but the clan leader got bored, as most of the small clans do.. I figured… okay whatever..

A few months later and I had Battlefield Vietnam, an awesome game… I was in operation irving and this asshole called “=SoV=DefineDeath” pwned my ass in an f4 Phantom, napalming me to death with my own plane.. We got talking and he invited me to join the clan he was in.. “Shadows of Vengeance” Cool name I thought, so stamped my name and signed, choosing the game name of  ”=SoV=hEaD_bUsTeR”. Lovely eh?

Over the next 2 and a half years I enjoyed =SoV= life, playing in clan matches, working my way slowly to near the top, eventually providing the teamspeak and game servers for the clan at the start of my hosting company. We saw our way through battlefield 2 and won many battles, but eventually when the release of Battlefield 2142 was nigh we decided enough was enough, we didn’t enjoy BF2142 and we could see that we wouldn’t be doing it for fun. We decided to go our own seperate ways with gaming, leaving the =SoV= clan in the dust of the past, a great era of gaming laid to rest.. a sad day.

Well as you can see, my name is from here, it changed slowly over time, evolved even. I started as “sovHead” in planeshift, then “SovHed” in numerous free games, then eventually WoW, leading us to the present day where my name is SovHed still… I may go by Ephirus on WoW but there is still SovHed inside me.

I purchased this domain about 3 years ago when I first took up the name SovHed and its stuck ever since.

Anyway that is the story of all about how my life got quick turned upside down and i just took a minute to sit right here, and tell you how I became the prince of …wait a minute…

Don’t you just hate getting your hair cut? Hmmm maybe not, but I do. Its probably deep mental scarring from having my mom cut it for years… however this last time she has really done it…

My hair looks… actually I’m going to steal Brittanni’s words.. I look like a monk :p seriously its as round and uniform as if I was wearing a nazi helmet… its not cool. In fact its nowhere near cool or hip or whiz or… whatever other odd words you use to describe hair looking good.

According to my personal team of experts it doesn’t look that bad, i myself have tried to avoid looking at it but when i have i have cringed and thought “I’ll wake up soon and have my hair back”.

I really do appreciate my mom’s help and attempting to cut my hair, I know its not a very easy thing to do, my hair especially, its light, sits differently every time you touch it and well its not very well kept I tend to just roll out of bed, shower and leave it however the water drains off it, it always comes back looking soft and fluffy but quite disorganised… I guess I should care for it some more and maybe brush it……. but that always seems like a lot of unneccessary work to me. I’ll take advice if you think i’m wrong… and might even change my ways…. *cough*

Yeah I look like a monk! No, no pictures…. unless you ask nicely…

I guess I will just wait until it re-grows, however long that might take, well actually I guess it won’t be too long, it grows fast out here because of all the sunlight and…positive….vitamins….shhh I know what i mean!

In other news my burnout of wow continues, I suffer from bordom while playing as my guild no longer runs nax or os25 so i cant gear my pally, (pugs always fail) and my priest is surplus to requirements in ulduar as there are lots of shitty other healers who get in because…. heck i dont know…

Ahh yes also I was annoyed in WoW, because my last 2 oracle eggs turned into a tickbird (fuckin suprised there) on ephirus and 3 aged yolk on kata.. Woopteedoo!

Well I haven’t honestly posted in ages and I should have.. so sorry for that and I hope this in some way makes up for it…

Where have I been? what have I been doing? Well thats easy enough to answer, I’ve been sitting about here. I’ve been a fair bit busier recently though. I have had a few new clients for my hosting and I have been working to promote my business. I’ve been trying to start up my CS:S server with little success, though there are a few pubbers here and there. I’m thinking of extending the competition also as there hasn’t been enough people to make it into an actual competition… added to that if I don’t I’ll likely end up winning it myself, and that would look just a little bit unfair?

I would just like to point out that I’m very happy with my penis. It is plenty big enough and spamming me constantly with ways to double size myself… is not terribly productive. So please cease.

Is forked

Well you probably heard about this a while ago, if you didn’t then i’m here to remind you about it!

It was actually a PDA, you know one of those things which does all sorts of crazy stuff, it wasn’t a particularly new one, from 2001 i think actually so it was the first of the PDA generation I guess. Anyway I guess I should be happy it lasted 7 years, sadly it had only been mine for 3 months.

It became mine when my dad realized he never used any of the features, in fact he didn’t call or even pick up the calls he got on it. So it was pretty much useless to him. So he let me take it after years of wanting the phone I had it! Woo i thought…

I gave my cool stylish Nokia 6680 to my mom as she had a shitty phone at the time, mine had a camera on it and well it was a nice thing to do. So my mom got my phone, my dad got my mom’s old one and I got the old PDA which pre-dated both of the phones by a couple of years at least, 5 actually.

I got the phone when Mike and Warren were over here and I wanted to show mike a PDF on it, I thought “Oh great I’ll load this up and away we’ll go”.

Yeah… it was a good idea, i found a free pdf viewer for it online which worked perfectly. I got it to mike, showed him the map, we were busy going through it when it locked up. froze entirely, couldn’t do jack… In the end had to reset the bastarding thing which wiped EVERYTHING, programs, texts, the lot. I wasn’t pleased…

A few crashes and restarts later I go to plug it into the base (thing to recharge and connect it to the pc with) when I noticed it didnt actually start charging.. On closer inspection a pin of the connected had come off and rendered the device un-re-charge-able [shit load of -s].

So now its sitting on the end of a desk in the lounge, laying looking longingly up at the cieling. [alliteration]

This now leaves me without a phone… for the past month, oh 2 months now actually.

I wonder how many calls I missed… I will check tomorrow and recieve a brilliant array of promotions from my phone company and not a single useful message or call. Actually I might have missed something from Kelate….but thats unlikely as she knew.. so no nothing

Speaking of which I have around 400 Billion different useless things that I won with the “SUPER FUCKOFF AMAZING LOLER DRAW!!!” or whatever the crap is they keep sending!
