Hi, its been a while in coming but here is my latest blogification!
As you can probably gather from the title this blog is going to be about all those things, rather random…but those are the subjects
Firstly, Yesterday I went to the beach with my cousin and got burned terribly. On a scale of 1-10 1 being pale, 10 being lobster, I’m somewhere near an 8-9. Luckily I didn’t have any trouble sleeping and I feel much better today although i’m still very sore and red. Everyone told me to put sunblock on but I decided it was pointless so didn’t bother. Also my point was proven when my cousin got equally burnt as me… poor girl… (she had sunblock on)
Apart from my burning not much happened yesterday.
However…. Star Trek and Lion King… yeah.. both names you know, the lion king, the 94 disney creation… I watched it back around that time when I was just a small little thing but I didn’t remember most of it. So just now i’ve finished watching it and I really enjoyed it… Yeah its Lion King but hey its a good movie.
As for Star Trek, the new movie is alright. It is action packed and full of content, I enjoyed it greatly but it didn’t fit in too well with the original story… Or at least it didn’t seem to. Vulcan was destroyed… and yeah I don’t remember that happening in any other star trek related thing.
Well all in all it was a good movie so i can’t really mark it down for its goodness. Also phasers are beams not pulses as shown in the most recent series of Star Trek where they implemented phasers in the 2nd series! GEEK KNOWLEDGE< ENGAGE!!! (even more geeky joke there if you got it)
Thats about all I have to blog about now really, other than that its pretty much been wandering around the house in extreme pain, drinking a LOT of water or plastering myself in aftersun.
So until next time, goodbye
Okay, I’ve been playing the Beta test version of Battlefield Heroes.
Its a cartoon shooter, a bit like Team Fortress 2, except… its a bit more basic, you can’t get one shot kills, its truly a cartoon game, realism is something that isn’t even considered in it. Its an online browser based game, which actually downloads and runs from your PC, so its not REALLY a browser game at all.
It strikes me as an addicts game, suitable for someone who would really play it over and over day in, day out. When you start out, your choice is Commando (spy), Gunner(rambo) and soldier (sissy in between) and you all look the same… As you level up you get various types of points which you can spend on gear/guns/accessories, most of which don’t actually help you. When you buy clothes/weapons/armor it only lasts for 7 days before it dissapears, meaning if you want to keep something you either pay more (to keep it for 1 month) or you rebuy it every week. Which doesn’t really stike me as fun, or unlocking something… because you unlock it with progress and playing…only to lose that a week later. So if you’re off for a 2 week vacation you could quite easily come back to what is in essence a new character, except for points in abilities..
You can buy another kind of points with REAL money, but the items and upgrades you buy with those also expire after a month… So after spending $25… you get a little bonus and some cool clothes for a month… I could buy real clothes that would last years for that!
The game however is enjoyable and very playable without the unlocked/purchased content. Plus its free to play and download! so… really when it comes out it might be a good investment of your time, its small and doesn’t take long to install so its quite a fun little game. You can jump right in for a few rounds, they don’t take long and you feel better for having killed some stuff…
Of course you will have to wait until the beta is over and its actually released…. but by then it should be even more impressive.
So all in all, worth checking out!
Well as you may have heard I have been playing Fallout 3 recently and I have to say at first I was very impressed, I liked the story when I started out. You start by plopping out of your mother who quickly dies off letting you grow up with only your sciencey father to guide you. He gives you a gun at 10 and 8 years later decides to fuck off into the wilderness, leaving you at the mercy of the crazy vault overseer.
The game actually gets going after that and it becomes “openworld”. If you’ve played oblivion you will know the controls and and the feel of the game is pretty similar. With open world comes the ability to make your own decisions and movements in everything you do, sadly however this feels both restricted and undirected as the amount of side-quests is laughably small compared to oblivion and the storyline doesn’t allow for much open playing.
You spend most of the rest of the game chasing after your father, beating/hugging as many people as necessary to get information relating to him and performing deeds which shift your alignment from good to evil very easily. This doesn’t seem to matter that much as characters don’t really seem to give a crap whether you are bad or good, and a quick visit to the church and a small donation will take you from the most hated person ever to the cuddliest fluff ball ever.
Other than these small problems the game plays nicely, there are a few interesting places along the way that you can visit and do quests at which are just generally fun. Overall I would rate it a fun game, with some interesting twists so check it out
The only MAJOR bug I have seen from start to finish is really just a guy in little lamplight whos head spins around as if his neck is made of spaghetti.
So I guess my score is: Play it
Come back! Its over, theres no more need for trees or presents or cleaning or cooking, its all done!
I hope to see everyone again soon as it has been quite lonely on teamspeak/skype for the last few days over this xmas period.
So, what good news is there? Well I got socks! I sold some servers on christmas day, a few people randomly buying servers as a present to themselves or something I think.
Speaking of which, erg look at me this is turning into an advertisement… If anyone wants a server its 50% off time!
On away from RL news: I’ve started a priest though im not really sure whether to level as shadow or holy, thats a hard one. I also respecced kelate’s priest to shadow to give it a little try out and I really enjoyed it.. Oh crap don’t tell her as I didn’t ask before I did it, I don’t want to die!
I also notice that I have 3 titles lined up for reviewing there on the side and I might just do those. I’ve also been playing some GTA 4 and left4dead so I might just have to give those a mention when I’ve finished them.
Well actually I finished l4d already, it wasn’t bad if you like zombie survival and play online, otherwise it will get old amazingly quickly as there are only 4 missions. Probably not worth the $50 at the moment. Maybe when its down to 15-10 in 6 months time.
As I previously promised here is my personal opinions on the recently released S.T.A…. What the hell, stalker.
Stalker Clear sky is a prequel to the first title, STALKER: Shadows of Chernobyl. Both games take place in a strange future ukraine where instead of killing everything, the destroyed reactor at chernobyl instead spews out strange waves that change the fabric of time and space and twist it everywhichway. This makes for some interesting gameplay, with the player constantly having to dodge dangerous anomalies and work out how to use the zone to his or her advantage.
You can’t actually change the sex of your character as that is an integral part of the story, another strange thing that perhaps should be noted is that not once does there appear a female character in the game. I seriously hope in this post apocalyptic world there are indeed females, otherwise I would like to reconsider walking through that odd looking white marsh a few miles back. o.O
STALKER Clear Sky, however, has some rather sad features that its predeccessor did not. Yes it has some beautiful graphics and I was in fact so amazed by the graphics that I took a good five minutes upon starting up the game to look at some of its beauty. It features some of the best HDR, lighting, shadows, mapping etc.. that I have ever seen in a game. Okay its not perfect but very little is. Added to that the performance level of it was good even at highest settings, so they got my hardware actually working.
As a certain someone said they were going to watch this film, I decided that I would investigate it myself as I liked the first one and had no idea this one would be coming out. I was a little apprehensive at first and wondered if I was getting a little old to be watching animated movies about animals… Then I realized what a load of crap I was thinking and watched it anyway.
Well it started badly, the first copy I found was terrible and broken. I mean…the DVD I rented didn’t play in my player…*cough*.
I got that replaced and started it up, the opening title was in russian so I thought the worst then it started and english blared from my 7.1 and I rejoiced, anyway, back to the movie itself!
Madagascar 2 is obviously set after the first one when the 4 main characters and the penguins/monkeys leave madagascar with the idea of heading towards New York. Of course if that all worked out the movie would be a little over 20 minutes long, so you can guess that something happened to make the movie run for nearly an hour and a half.
Skip ahead after the plane crash they find themselves in Africa. (shocker eh? its in the title) where they find a lot of new friends (as you would expect) and the story really starts up.
I would carry on and give more away but there is a chance some of you may want to watch this so I will say that the next hour of the movie is well worth you watching it, it has some rather immature moments, but then again immature can also be funny, so consider that when deciding wether or not to watch it.
To cut a long story short and to make you want to watch there is love in the film, who? I don’t know you will have to watch it. Some get married too. I wondered just how it would…. you know… work… but then I realized that that line of thought was quite fucked up considering its a PG rated movie.
Also no sequel would be complete without the penguins doing something way beyond their abilities.
So there we go, I hope there were not many spoilers.
I would say to go ahead and watch it, sit down with your family and watch it, as long as your family has younger members in it otherwise you might be regarded as a bit immature….
…Yes I watched it alone… …What?…
If you want a score out of 10 i’d probably give it somewhere near a 7/10, not that I really like that sort of score system anyway.
